I know...I have been awful lately...no updates, no posts.

Smiley from millan.netWhere oh where did Kathy go?

I did go on vacation....Florida, where it rained for 6 straight days...finally getting beachtime on the weekend before we left on Tuesday. Smiley from millan.net So glad we ended the drought for them.

Smiley from millan.net But the big news is that I have decided to re-do my blog template, and have hired the professionals to do just that! I can't wait to see what they come up with. I will have my SU! links right here for convenience, and can still share projects, etc as I have in the past. I have been very unhappy with this current set up, so hope you will hang in there for another couple of weeks while everything gets set up.

I do plan to do Blog Candy when I have the Grand Re-Opening....so be sure to check back soon!

Smiley from millan.net Hopefully the April rains are past...now on to May flowers!

I have been busy with clubs and workshops and regular work too! I worked a First Steps family event yesterday, so by late afternoon I was wiped out from that. Smiley from millan.net

But today I have NOTHING scheduled! Well, other than laundry Smiley from millan.net

Before I get immersed in that chore, and maybe stamping something wonderful, I did want to share some of the club projects we did recently.

This card is one we made using the Sizzix Daisies #2 die cut....so simple! I love this design!

These are great cards to use up your odds and ends of Chit Chat rub ons. You can make them any kind of card you need!

These other two cards use the new technique that is sweeping all the demo blogs called "Reinker Spread". This is such an awesome technique and easy to do. If you haven't already read about it, it is best to use the Shimmery White cardstock since it has a light coating that allows water to sit on top for awhile, giving the time to actually apply the color. It is also best to use an outline stamp, since you heat emboss the initial image. By embossing, you create wells for the water and reinker to sit in. That is the key!

Both of these cards use the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set, heat embossed, then the cardstock is spritzed heavily with water. Taking an aqua painter, dip into a drop of reinker and touch to a well of water on the flower. Watch how the color just flows to fill the space! Awesome! If you find yourself "painting" that usually means you need to spritz again....not enough water in the well.

This is a really Wow technique with lots of uses. The only downside is that it does take awhile to dry. So I recommend embossing and coloring several at a sitting, then you have them ready to use as you need them!

Mother's Day is coming....don't these roses make the perfect card?

I apologize for the blurriness of the table shot, but they all looked soooo pretty!

This close up of the tiles is a bit sharper, so you can imagine how it all looked...11 tables of 8. I didn't get a shot of when the candles were lit, since I was a bit busy with registrations Smiley from millan.net

It was a great day, lots of complements and thank yous, and I think they were all pleased with the awards and luncheon.

This is a great group of providers, community partners, parents, etc. that help make the Indiana First Steps program so viable! It truly couldn't be done without all their help.

Smiley from millan.net Now that this event is history, I can get back to a regular routine both at work and here at home. I am busy having workshops and classes and club meetings, working toward a sales goal so I can walk stage at the Stampin' Up! convention in August. I am all registered, going solo this year, so who knows what trouble I can get into? Any help to offer? Smiley from millan.net

So that has been my weekend, relaxing and recovering from the Big Event on Friday......I might even go stamp something today.....
Smiley from millan.net see ya next time!
